Kza(Force of Nature)

Driven by a deep passion for sampling and vinyl culture, Kza is a DJ and producer who pursues dance music from his own unique perspective and continues to lead the Japanese dance music scene.

Furthermore, as a member of the duo ʻForce Of Natureʼ alongside DJ KENT, he has been crafting his own distinctive sound for over 30 years. With hip-hop as his roots, his playing style seamlessly traverses genres from disco, house and techno to breakbeats and Balearic, possessing an overwhelming persuasiveness that transcends genre boundaries. He is also renowned as a vinyl digger who has spent many years unearthing vast collections of records from all over the world. His track selection, underpinned by his extensive knowledge and keen aesthetic judgement, and his meticulously crafted set-building style are highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.

Furthermore, he is active as a creator across a wide range of fields, including his solo ʻDig and Editʼ series, as well as numerous re-edits, remixes and production work. His ability to effortlessly command any space, from clubs to festivals, and to unite the crowd with a deep groove has earned him the deep trust of many DJs and music fans alike. As a figure who continues to shape Japanese club culture today, he continues to captivate listeners across generations and national borders.

Began DJing and dealing records privately in their teens.

With deep record knowledge, they keep the groove running from little-known rare groove into house, techno, and world music — crossing genres and drawing the floor into richly varied territory.

Toured across Europe in 2024 and 2025. At giant steps, the storied London club that opens its nights only six days a year, they played a seven-hour set two years running to wide acclaim.

As a record dealer, they count renowned DJs and collectors such as Gilles Peterson, Tuxedo, and Antal among their clients — unearthing records the world has yet to hear and bringing them to light.

After the virtual party space Permafrost emerged online amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, maca launched the new party Shifuzō in 2023. Inviting artists from Matsumoto and elsewhere, the party returns to the dance floor through a broad understanding of dance music. Since 2026, it has also been held irregularly at MITSUKI in Shibuya, Tokyo.
